Background to the Event

Northern Ireland is no ordinary place, so this was no ordinary event!

The interactive showcase on October 6th, profiled the pilot projects, projects which were developed to implement the brand through the creation of unique visitor experiences at a series of visitor touch points from Belfast International Airport through to a Taxi Product Knowledge Programme.

The Showcase demonstrated how the brand vision, values and behaviours can be adopted by every tourism provider, irrespective of the size of business, to enhance their offering.

The Showcase of pilot projects provided a focal point for the celebration of each.  Industry and stakeholders were able to see just how tangible the brand actually is. Through example, ideas were stimulated and the industry encouraged to adopt these principles in every future interaction with our visitors.

This was supported through a pre-recorded message from NITB demonstrating how tourism providers can deliver the vision for Northern Ireland tourism:

‘This is Northern Ireland’ was then staged for the gathered audience, representatives from all ends of the tourism spectrum, the story of our brand, animated.  It served as a celebration of the successes and lessons learned from the pilot projects we have been pioneering in partnership, over the last 6 months.  It provided further inspiration for the industry and tourism stakeholders: providing ideas and stimulation for their creation of their own new Visitor Inspired Northern Ireland visitor experiences.
