Greg Nugent - Director of Brand, Marketing and Culture for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics
Greg Nugent was ultimately responsible for all aspects of imagery, branding, marketing, customer and public interaction and creative input for the games. With a remit extending from the design of the Olympic venues to public opinion to the opening ceremony to posters and online, Greg was involved in all areas and worked extensively with those responsible for delivering and operating the games. Greg was involved in the design of the 'spectator experience', something no other games had considered, as well as the 'look and feel' of the event. Greg was key to the local aspects of the London 2012 experience, from the torch relay to the Gamesmakers (a concept he developed). He is Deputy Chair of The Join In Trust, an organisation which has evolved the idea of localism and volunteers based on the Gamesmakers. From his wide experience with this huge, once-in-a-lifetime event Greg has drawn lessons that can apply to any brand or business, of any size or type. Whether it's the importance of defining and understanding a brand, developing a customer experience, the power of building local support, or having all aspects of an organisation understand the goals and achievements of all those involved.
