Golf Club Quality Assurance Scheme

NITB’s Golf Quality Assurance Scheme aims to improve and maintain the quality standards experienced by golf tourists in Northern Ireland. The Golf Quality Assurance Scheme is delivered in partnership with Northern Ireland’s leading golf clubs.

The scheme helps to establish the minimum standards that visitors can expect from participating golf clubs, from their arrival, the welcome and reception they receive, clubhouse facilities and services and standards on the course.

Golf tourism currently generates £13-14 million each year for the local economy in Northern Ireland. The estimated spend per golfer visiting Northern Ireland is between £300 to £450, which is significantly higher compared to the average visitor spend figures of £188 per trip.

NITB works closely in partnership with local golf clubs through the Golf Quality Assurance Scheme to help develop the golf tourism offering in Northern Ireland. The scheme is being implemented conjunction with Fáilte Ireland which runs a corresponding golf quality initiative in the Republic of Ireland. NITB also works with Tourism Ireland to capitalise on the current international interest in Northern Ireland golf.
